Frustrated by the lack of progress made by the Benghazi Committee, House Speaker Paul Ryan called today for the creation of a Special Benghazi Committee Committee, to be charged with investigating the Benghazi Committee’s investigation of Benghazi. At a news conference held outside his office, Speaker Ryan explained his reasoning.
“The American people have waited too long for an answer to the question of how much blame can be pinned on Hillary Clinton for Benghazi. The new Benghazi Committee Committee will get to the bottom of the Benghazi Committee’s attempts to get to the bottom of Benghazi.”
Ryan went on to explain who will be on the new committee.
“In order to make the most efficient use of taxpayer dollars, the Benghazi Committee Committee will consist of the same members as the Benghazi Committee. This will ensure that members investigating themselves will have free and complete access to themselves. They can interview themselves, they can pressure themselves to produce evidence and if they deem themselves uncooperative they can subpoena themselves, but nobody wants to see that happen.”
Pushing back against the charge that the Benghazi Committee has been an utter waste of time and resources, Ryan made one final point to reporters.
“Make no mistake. If the Benghazi Committee Committee fails to get to the bottom of the Benghazi Committee’s efforts to get to the bottom of Benghazi, I will appoint an even more special Benghazi Committee Committee Committee to get to the bottom of the Benghazi Committee Committee’s efforts to get to the bottom of the Benghazi Committee’s efforts to get to the bottom of Benghazi. This is how we in Congress are working for the American people.”
