Donald Trump hedged his Birther bet this morning when he finally acknowledged he believes President Obama was born in the U. S., but followed up by questioning the president’s true heritage. Standing in front of his brand new Washington D.C. hotel, Trump sought to cast doubt on Obama’s place in history as the nation’s first African-American president.
“He was probably born in Hawaii but he sure looks Mexican to me. Am I right? I mean who ever heard of a black guy named Obama? That’s a Mexican name. And we all know what kind of presidents Mexico is sending us. They’re not sending their best. Someone should look into this. I’m calling for the president to re-release his long form birth certificate to prove once and for all that he really is African-American. Seriously, what’s this guy hiding?”
Asked by a Washington Post reporter what evidence he has to back up his claim, Trump dismissed the question.
“This is America. We don’t need evidence. If you don’t like it, go back to China. And by the way, Hillary’s pulling a fast one, too. There’s no way she’s a dude.”
